Født og oppvokst i Norge ble Ole Jørgen tidlig inspirert av landskapet og den vakre naturen i sitt hjemland. Ifra sin far og bestefar, begge ivrige amatør fotografer, arvet han interessen for fotografi og begynte tidlig å utforske de kommunikasjonelle muligetene denne displinen tilbyr.

Etter å ha jobbet noen år på amatør nivå i Norge, flyttet Ole Jørgen til Argentina for å studere fotografi. Ved Universidad de Palermo i Buenos Aires ble han uteksaminert med hederstittelen «cum laude» og graden Licenciado en Fotografía (Bachelor in Photography). Han har vunnet mange priser og hans arbeid har blitt eksponert via en rekke forskjellige medier, som f.eks bøker, blader, aviser, internet, seperate utstillinger osv. I 2006 gjorde Ole Jørgen et arbeid som omhandlet analfabetismen i Argentina, en serie med bilder som fikk stor oppmerksomhet da den ble utstillt ved Utdanningsministeriet i Buenos Aires.

I Argentina begynte Ole Jørgen å fokusere mer på den kommersielle siden av fotografi og jobbet stadig mer innen reklame, mote og journalistikk. Alltid med stor respekt for den kommunikasjonelle kraften fotografi kan formidle som et visuellt språk. Idag bor han i Norge og jobber som konsulent og fotograf for Statoil ASA, et av verdens ledende energiselskap.

Born in Norway, Ole Jørgen Bratland was early on inspired by the landscapes and great nature of his home country. Combining that interest with the inspiration he got from his grandfather and father, both afficionate photographers, he started getting fascinated with photography and the possibilites it offers as a visual language at a very early age.

After some years of pursuing his passion for photography, Ole Jørgen decided to bring his art to a new level and moved on to Argentina, where he eventually graduated cum laude from the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, obtaining the title Licenciado en Fotografía. Within the academic circuit he has won numerous awards and prizes and his works has been exposed through a big variety of mediums, including books, magazines, newspapers, internet, separate expositions etc. In 2006, a work focusing on the analphabetism in Argentina caught the attention of the Ministry of Education, who eventually decided to expose this in the context of the Annual Literacy Meetings that were taking place in the Ministry.

During his years in Argentina, Ole Jørgen has slowly moved towards more commercial sides of photography, working in advertising, fashion and journalism, always stressing the communicational importance of the discipline. Ole Jørgen is currently living in Norway, working as a consultant and photographer at Statoil ASA, one of the world’s leading energy companies.
